BESydney Scores $50 Million Nu Skin Mega Incentive

BESydney Scores $50 Million Nu Skin Mega Incentive

Direct selling company, Nu Skin, has confirmed that its 2016 incentive trip will be to Sydney.

The announcement was made at a recent Nu Skin Academy event in Macau.

This is one of the largest incentive wins in BESydney’s 44-year history and one of the largest incentive groups Australia has ever hosted.

Business Events Sydney (BESydney) CEO Lyn Lewis-Smith said, “It’s a milestone in the making. Sydney shines as a strategically-important destination for Asian corporates looking to reward, motivate and inspire their top sales people. The city is a firm favourite for Asian companies, and this win is testament to this.”

The incentive will see Nu Skin’s qualifying sales people travel to Sydney for a five-day program in April 2016. Delegates will travel from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

Nu Skin Greater China Regional President Andrew Fan said, “Sydney has exceeded every expectation. Throughout this journey its stakeholders have united for a cohesive, whole-of-city approach which we have not witnessed before. I am confident that Sydney will deliver an outstanding incentive program. Our sales people will feel motivated and inspired by Sydney as the 2016 host destination and this is sure to drive sales performances.”

The winning bid was the result of collaboration between BESydney, Destination NSW, Tourism Australia, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and Sydney Airport Corporation Limited.

In addition to the 2016 Nu Skin event, BESydney has secured $278 million worth of confirmed business for the future.

The Future is Bright for Business Events in Sydney

Business Events Sydney (BESydney), in partnership 12 co-exhibitors, will shine the spotlight on Sydney’s spectacularly bright future at this month’s Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expos (AIME).

Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26-27 February, AIME is the Asia-Pacific region’s must-attend event for the meetings and events industry.

Sydney and NSW’s world-class venues and suppliers will fly the flag for NSW at the Destination Sydney stand (#1522), showcasing the scope of the state’s unique opportunities for event planners.

The harbour city will also be showing off Australia’s largest convention and exhibition facilities – an exciting development that will bolster the city’s already stellar reputation as one of the world’s favourite places to do business.

The International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) will have its own stand (#1422), where AIME visitors will be able to see a model of the current design and talk to the consortium that will build and operate the facilities when they open in late 2016.

Other new developments on show include The Star’s recently opened Event Centre, a multi-purpose venue designed to host A-list acts, conferences, exhibitions and awards functions, and Royal Randwicks’ $150 million redevelopment (opening in August), which includes a four-star hotel, ballroom and outdoor amphitheatre, as fantastic locations for upcoming business events.

Construction is also currently underway at Barangaroo, a 22-hectare former container port that is being transformed into a $6 billion extension of the city and which will include office space, residential apartments, public parks and event space, and a hotel, cafes and shops.

Lyn Lewis-Smith, CEO of BESydney, says that Sydney is open for business, and industries, government and communities are working together like never before.

“The venue options are abundant in Sydney and the redevelopment of Darling Harbour is the perfect opportunity for the city to showcase its diverse venues and the agility and flexibility of its suppliers,” Ms Lewis-Smith says.

“Also, many national conferences are literally getting out of town and benefitting from the unique activities and specialised knowledge hubs in regional NSW locations such as the Hunter Valley and Wollongong,” Ms Lewis-Smith said.

“NSW welcomes almost half of all international business arrivals to Australia. We are, and will continue to be, the country’s premier business events destination, now and in the future.”

Destination Presentations will be held at the Destination Sydney stand on Tuesday February 26 at 11.35 am and Wednesday February 27 at 1.15 pm. Register at www.aime.com.au  to attend.

(Media release issued by The Hon Andrew Stoner MP, Deputy Premier of NSW, Minster for Trade & Investment, and Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services on 13 December 2012)
Business Event Sydney (BESydney) has been invited to join the Global Talent Hub initiative, which is to be driven by the Committee for Sydney with support from the NSW Government, to build on Sydney's existing advantages to attract more highly capable, internationally mobile talent to Sydney.
Sydney's lifestyle appeal, dominance in the finance, ICT and research sectors, world- class education offering and highly skilled multicultural workforce will be key selling points in a new campaign to position the Harbour City as a magnet for global talent.
"The Global Talent Hub initiative will also work with Business Events Sydney to target the thousands of international visitors that attend specialised business events in Sydney each year," Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr Andrew Stoner MP said.

Luxury Show Founders Split - Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal

Luxury Show Founders Split - Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal
Sydney will host two “luxury and experiential” shows in September 2013, with the cofounders and owners of this year’s inaugural Luxperience event in Sydney each going their own way (BEN breaking news). Luxperience is 50% owned by former Travelcorp founder Helen Logas and Rosemarie Sama, who headed up AIME for some years. Overnight Logas announced that she was the new ceo of Luxperience, while Sama “is no longer with the company”. And Sama has launched her own event, dubbed Luxe Events +

Travel Experiences (LETE) which is scheduled for 02-04 Sep at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal - the same dates and venue planned for Luxperience. It’s not clear where Luxperience will be held now, but according to Logas Virgin Australia has continued its major partner agreement and “dozens of exhibitors from around Asia Pacific and Australia have reconfirmed for 2013 and will be joined by product suppliers from additional destinations such as Europe, the Americas and Africa”.

Sama is pitching LETE as an evolution of Luxperience, saying “her event returns in 2013 with a new format and a new name”. She said feedback from this year showed huge demand, but that “a greater focus on experiential meetings and events was needed”.

Interestingly Sama resigned as a director of Luxperience Enterprises Pty Ltd on 01 Sep this year - before the show started - but according to ASIC records remains a 50% shareholder. Logas said Luxperience 2013 would include a Thought Leaders’ Forum dedicated to top end experiential travel, while Sama’s LETE will feature eight “fun and informative networking events”.
